Psychology and the Gods in Seneca’s “The Madness of Hercules”

This is the first draft of an article that I think will come out next year. Ostensibly it’s about a tragedy written in Latin during the first century CE by a card-carrying Stoic philosopher. But I’d describe it really as an effort to stake out a position about the relation between mental illness and the “spiritual” ecosystem, which I attempt by reading Seneca and the modern French philosopher Bernard Stiegler side by side.
